P017 → TO RECALL

To Recall is the transformation of a series of agricultural structures into a family residence. The project celebrates the diversity of the pre-existing by attempting to build a unified whole from these distinct elements. The main building, painted in pink, sets the chromatic foundation for the adjacent structures. United by color, a tiled belt integrates the ensemble, offering a new reading of the whole, akin to Richard Artschwager’s Corner piece.

The Euclidean geometry of the pre-existing structures is disrupted by a series of oblique walls that, here and there, create exceptional conditions, offering possibilities where the pragmatic rigor of the agricultural typology once fell short.

The exterior is carefully orchestrated with a series of gardens that introduce privacy, mediate visual relationships with the surroundings, and resolve the transition between the urbanized street context and the agricultural landscape to the west. On one side, the residential structure is framed by the flora of fruit trees and horticultural crops. On the other, the same structure reverses its role, becoming the canvas upon which the new gardens cast their shadows, shadows that insist on dancing with the rhythm of the wind.
